The Impeached Rose on CD
For three
hunndred years
the rose disappeared
out of ancestor's view
'cause she wouldn't be true.
'Your beauty is for pagan's delight,
therefore we'll take you out of sight',
warned the early christianity,
and banned the rose virtually.
Rose closed her blossoms and fell asleep,
her banning lasted long and deep.
Saint Jerome undid church's prohibition,
and reinstalled her with holy ambition.
Again rose embellished the ancient ground,
and she bedecked all places of worship around,
in colors of yellow, pink, white and red,
stained-glass windows showed a rose-coronet.
Paintings and portraits honored the new star,
as mosaics and sculptures in Egypt and North Africa.
Now, the rose became a symbol of Christianity
since these days till our 21st century.
